I use Play MPE for The Indie Blend. I think it’s the best service to access breaking music. Play MPE allows immediate play and download, access to images, info, and background. Other services make you jump through hoops. You often have to subscribe to multiple services, to both listen AND download. That’s a pain, and time-consuming. Play MPE is for the pros – it’s like having EZ Pass during I-95 or Beltway rush hour traffic in D.C.!

I think Play MPE is great because it is easy to search, listen and download the songs. The other nice thing that you sometimes forget is that once you have an account, those songs live on the cloud, in perpetuity should you need them again 2-3 years down the road. So it is so easy to save and access the songs you need. In many ways you have the industry standard for WAV & MP3 downloads here.

Since I discovered MTR, I’ve been able to get an accurate picture of the artists’ songs represented on the radio. You can see the exact number of airplays with the songs of the artists represented on the stations where they are broadcast.
