Our motivation
A few months ago we launched Contacts, which optimizes how you manage lists in Caster. This introduced an intuitive new tree view for Lists and the next generation design language for Play MPE. We’re pretty excited about it!
Building off of Contacts, we are bringing that same fresh approach to Release Schedules. This update has streamlined how you assign a release to Lists and Contacts – one of the most important tasks in Caster!
To ensure we make sharing new music as easy as possible, we focused on speed, flexibility, and transparency.
What’s changed
We’re enabling a faster pace and more versatility in how you assign and manage releases.
New schedule layout
Think of it like a schedule view in your calendar. We have lined things up to show you how the release unfolds over time. By making the lists visible in each schedule, you can quickly see who has access to your release and make adjustments if needed.
Two ways to add lists
If you don’t know what list you need, we’ve extended the Contacts structure and tree view of folders and lists to Browse lists for the schedule. Be sure to check out your favorite lists to save even more time in the future. Favorites can be managed from Contacts.
If you know the name of the list you need, or maybe just part of the name, you can now search for the lists right in the schedules. We show you lists and individual contacts to add to the schedule. That’s right, you can now add individual contacts that are on any of your lists in a temporary list. This will help you add them as a one off or if you want to give them special download (DRM) privileges.
Allow download (DRM) on the fly
When you need a bit more control when rolling out a release, you now have many more options. You can adjust download for a single list or contact in the schedule, or toggle it all off, or on, as is needed. So much power!
Send promotion updates to all
When you need to make some changes to the email to update promotional info about the release, send an update to all. This works a bit differently than in the previous version, where you would adjust the email date in the schedule. This new transparent resend gives you more control and information about who has received the latest email.
